Rent prices have been on the rise as seen from data from the past year. This is generally true for the entirety of America but there are some exceptions to this trend. An example is New Jersey whose average monthly cost dropped by 1.3%. The largest increase in monthly average rent occurred in Rhode Island with 7.1%. Average rent is expected to continue to rise in 2017.
